LOCAL RIVERS
Fraser River: – (non-tidal) Water levels are unusually low due to late snow melt from the North, which is making our conditions fast and with fast moving debris choose your way points with caution! Some guides are still taking out clients and are having success below Chilliwack for sturgeon – use traditional baits such as roe sacks and carcus. However – the Cutthroat; Bull trout and White fish are phenomenal angling experiences right now! Baits to use are single eggs; worms; shrimp and small spoons and spinners.
Vedder/Chilliwack: Steelheads have finally arrived! Look for deep, shaded white watery slots and runs. Best to angle with natural baits, single eggs, small roe sacks, worms and shrimps – or spinners (2 tone); rubber worms and beads. (10 mm)
Chehalis: Extremely tough to fish right now; no water combined with cold is proving to be the fishes trump card! Best baits everything ‘small’ shrimp – single eggs – wool and hardware (very small)
Harrison: Great for Cutthroat and White fish when the weather is favourable. All baits are producing well; lures and flies all producing fish.
Cultus Lake: Cutthroat and Dolly Varden are biting – use flies; hardware and good old bait.
Local Lakes: Sasquatch Park Lakes have access and Dolly Varden and Cutthroat are biting. Use flies; hardware and bait.
INTERIOR LAKES
Are still going strong but be cautious as conditions are changing daily! Use shrimp; single eggs; worms and jigs. Snow is deep!!
