Sheep season started out with some terrible weather but for those who stuck it out there were some nice Rams to be taken in regions 6 & 7. Early season moose was also tough hunting but I have reports of some nice tasty early season Bulls being harvested, two guys I know did it with horses which makes the pack out much more enjoyable. Youth season opened September first in many regions around the province and I know several club members are taking their kids out, some for the first time. Be sure to let me know if anyone in your family harvests their first big game animal. Also good luck to those archers venturing out for the early archery season, this cooler weather should most certainly help with success.

Good luck to all those heading hunting this season and be sure to be safe and vigilant in the woods. Be sure to email me your stories and /or pics of your harvest for our website and I can also score any animals for our big game awards at the end of the year.

Shoot straight!

Ian Baird
