Local Rivers:

Fraser River: tidal and non-tidal – the Fraser is now open to Trout fishing. Also open for 2 hatchery Coho per day. Winter Chinooks are now in full swing at the mouth – use herring strip and hoochies for a change up.

There is no retention for any other salmonoid species. The Sturgeon are fishing fair – use pike minnows and roe lampreys for a change up. Pay attention to the lunar tables – Fraser/Harrison, Nicomen/ Dewdney and Stave closed to Chum retention – there are still a few Coho being hooked.

Chilliwack/Vedder: still producing and is open for Coho and Chinook; 4 Salmon total bag limit. Barbless single hook – Steelhead are next (usually Christmas, New Year).

Harrison/Chehalis: Open for hatchery Coho above #7 bridge. Coho and Chinook below #7 bridge – 4 fish limit single barbless hooks. Use baits: roe – shrimp and single eggs, jigs as a change up.

Local Lakes:

Creels of Rainbows and Cutthroat are still being caught – angle for them with light spinning gear combined with worms, roe, single salmon eggs and a float or slipweight setup, on the bottom move a jig tipped with scent for a change up.

Interior Lakes:

Slowed down for the winter freeze up! Some angling on good weather days – use leeches, blood worms and shrimp.

Merry Christmas Angling and Cheers to tight lines in 2020!
