LOCAL RIVERS
Fraser River: – (non-tidal) The Fraser is rising noticeably every day due to the hot weather province wide. Freshet is happening now! Be cautious at anchor as much debris is coming from the north. The boat launches are busier than usual as the Sturgeon woke up hungry! Use roe; dew worms; salmon parts; key bait is ‘pike minnow’!
Vedder/Chilliwack: Suprising all! Still producing nice size Steelhead in better numbers. The Chilliwack is also rising but it’s still fishable – use shrimp; krill sacks; single eggs and dew worms spinners – 10mm; beads and rubber worms.
Chehalis: Rough to fish and access is tough. A few Steelheads around – best for Rainbows and Cutthroat, use small traditional baits.
Harrison: Great for Cutthroat and White fish when the weather is favorable. All baits are producing well; lures and flies all producing fish.
Cultus Lake: Producing quite nicely, Bull trout and Cutthroat are near or on the bottom.
Harrison: unbelievable Cuthroat fishing right now! Also Whitefish, use lures; flies and real baits!
Local Lakes: Sasquatch Park Lakes have picked right up for Cutthroat and Dolly Varden. Pay attention to the regulations for 2018! Use flies; hardware and real old fashioned worms and roe baits. Kawkawa Lake the Kokanee are suspended at 29-31ft, you should troll for them now as they will be on the bottom soon.
INTERIOR LAKES
Now ice free! Every camp is reporting good angling for now, the lakes will turn in two to three weeks.
