LOCAL RIVERS

1) Fraser: Sturgeon fishing seems to be getting better every day! Use salmon pieces; eels; roe; pike minnows are the guides mainstays! Chinook 4/day 1 over 62cm, Chum 2/day….NO fishing for Coho Sockeye. ‘Bait Ban’ until further notice, use springlows and jigs.

2) Chilliwack/Vedder: Conditions are very low, flow and gin clear. Watershed is open for hatchery Coho (4/day), 1 Chum/day, 4 Chinook/ Day – 2 over 62cm, No Pink or Sockeye retention. Hatchery rainbow trout 4/day. Jigs are the preferred bait as well as shrimp; krill; single salmon eggs or small sacks.Do not float your jigs twitching is preferred. Short leaders will allow you to effectively float fish with roe.

3) Chehalis: open for hatchery Coho 4/day; limit – Chum 0/day; Chinook 4/day, 2 over 50cm. Pinks and Sockeye’s 0 limit. Very little water, salmonids are forced to hang around the mouth and lower river. Small baits are a must – angle early hours and look for shade! Be stealthy and you will be successful!

4) Interior Lakes: Mid and high elevation still fishing well. Use leeches, bloodworms, sedgepupa, shrimp and dragonflies. Will get even better as temperatures get cooler.

5) Local Lakes: Kawkawa is slow due to spawning conditions, Jones still producing Rainbows.

6) Harrison: East and West – slower now but will improve with cooler weather.
