Last weekend saw yet another IPSC Training Course at AFGC. This was the seventh event with one more this year scheduled for November 23–24th, 2013 and then nothing until January 2014. The 2014 schedule is on the club calendar, on the IPSC BC pages and on the MD Gardner Website.

This year the classes involved 33 people, 12 members and 21 non-members which generated $420 in Day Card revenue.

Students came from not only the Metro Vancouver area but also Nanaimo, Kelowna and Ft. Nelson. Many non-members had their first exposure to the Club and found it was worth the effort to take out a membership. Typically these students tend to be involved in the shooting sports and their clubs so I anticipate more involvement from them.

These events would not have been such a success without the help of the IPSC members, Tim Sanderson, Mike McClelland and Rob Engh. The Caretakers, Dave and Linda and their sub, Cameron, made me feel very welcome and showed me the ropes to operating the facility. Always a plus when such helpful folks step up to make the club a success.

I look forward to sharing my knowledge about IPSC with you all and seeing you involved in this dynamic shooting sport.
