The range is still very busy this fall, with all of the subclubs beginning a new season and membership growing each week.
It has been busy behind the scenes with the recovery of approximately 1400 fry from the creek and sediment pond by Dave Harper and Kenji Miyazaki. We pumped out the sediment pond so that they could get closer to the fish to net them. They were here for two afternoons working very hard so that we could excavate the pond and buildl the new rock weirs as secondary sediment traps.
DFO finally gave us the approval to allow the city to replace the culvert under the road with a larger one and to dig out the creek bed to lower the elevation thus increasing the water flow from the creek to the canal. Hopefully this will alleviate any flood problems on the new ranges.
