April! Finally, the commencement of match season! Many of our sub-club participants will be attending the first Level 2 IPSC BC Qualifiers of the calendar year, taking place on April 4th and 5th at TMSA.
A small group of AFGC shooters attended a Level 1 Club Match at Kelowna Fish and Game Club on March 29th, hosted by the Kelowna Practical Shooters. The weather was excellent! A 9 stage, 213 round club match was a great opportunity to shake out the cobwebs the week before the TMSA level 2 double-header. Now if only the weather will hold out for us!
Skills and Drills attendance on Fridays and Saturdays is picking up steadily – likely due to the time of year, and people looking to shake those same cobwebs out. In addition to our core attendees, we’ve had some brand new shooters as well as some new faces who aren’t new to shooting, but are looking to improve their handgun skills (and some who’re hopping into a new game).
A reminder – we still have available slots on the Tactical Pistol and Advanced Tactical Pistol courses being presented by none other than Ernest Langdon himself from Langdon Tactical Technology, scheduled to take place at AFGC July 23-26th 2015. Ernest’s skill and instruction are second to none, and the course is worth every single penny (IMO). If you want to take it to the next level and have a bunch of fun at the same time, let Rob or myself know and we can provide the details.
That’s all for now – look forward to a (hopefully) stellar report on how awesome we all did at the April IPSC qualifiers!
