The remaining registered CPCA match for the 2019 season will be held on October 6th followed up by the Canadian National PPC Championships in Victoria October 11-13.
All Members of the Canadian Police Combat Association are welcome to compete in the registered matches during the year in order to have their scores submitted to CPCA for classifications.
Five of our regular PPC shooters travelled to Sydney Australia for the World PPC Championships in September, where they joined up with a PPC shooter from Ontario to make up the Canadian Team. The Ontario shooter, Roly Miles, has shot on our range previously at the 2013 Provincial and National championships held at the Abbotsford club.
Mark Horsley teamed up with Roly Miles in the world club team High Master class revolver match where they took the gold medal with a total score of 1187-70x out of 1200. Mark and Roly also placed 2ndh in the world team pistol team match with at 1183-57x, 1 point behind the Australian team.
On an open individual competition basis, Roly Miles took silver in the revolver high master class, and Mark Horsley took silver in the master class. Ken Fisher took silver in the stock semi-auto expert class.
Dave Fournier took the Marksman class Bronze medal in the Distinguished revolver match.
Denzil Gow placed just outside of the medals in his class.
All in all we can be extremely proud of our PPC shooters in their representation of our club and Canada at the World Championships.
Our regular training/practice matches for the rest of the year will be held on November 1st, and our special Christmas match being held on December 1st. The Christmas match will have a turkey shoot and other fun shoots including a one on one balloon match and an Oregon walk down match following a modified PPC course of fire.
Abbotsford club members are welcome to come out to observe and/or participate in our practice/training matches, as well as shooters from other clubs on a drop in basis. For information on participation, course of fire, equipment and ammo requirements please contact me or PPC director, Bob Stoddart.
Remember to stay safe on and off the range.
