Happy New Year

The last year has been full of exciting and challenging activities at AFGC. As a club, we have installed a new security fence, the creek has been dredged and a deeper sediment pond dug to prevent flooding, range safety red and green lights with a timer have been installed in the outdoor range for safety issues, the two trap houses were excavated around to water proof and were rewired with a new power line to the trap building, night time shooting until 9:30 has become popular with many shooters using glow sticks or night goggles or such, we have had two club potlucks- one in the summer and one at Christmas, and a New Years dance. We have acquired a 30 kW stand-by generator, which we will be installing in the early spring, which will fully power our complex in case of a power outage. We also are installing new heaters for the indoor range along with a make up air unit and new ventilation system in the near future. There has been a committee formed to investigate and cost for an additional outdoor range facility. We have been very busy signing up new members this year. For the 2008-2009 year, we will be initiating a new system of issuing cards for membership-you will have to come to the club to get your picture taken and get a plastized card which will be yours for life. Each year you will receive only a sticker for the renewal. We recently purchased a new floor-cleaning machine to replace the antique one, which finally gave up the ghost. With the Game Supper coming up on February 9, we will be very busy cleaning up the facility. We hope to see each of you this year and gain some new friends and acquaintances. Come out and become part of a growing club and get involved in some of our ongoing projects and attend our meetings on the 1st Thursday of the month, as your input is invaluable to your club.
