It has been an interesting and very busy winter for us. We now know why they named the road we live on what they did- Lakemount Road- every time there is a lot of rain the field below our house fills up and becomes a lake.
As most of you may be aware, we had to hire Marpoule Construction to bring in an excavator, to clean out the creek as it had overflowed its banks and was threatening the clubhouse. At the same time, we dug a sediment trap to contain the gravel, which gets washed down every time there is a lot of rainfall.
One of the highlights for February, was the Annual Game Supper, which was very well attended. Linda and a couple of women from her work cooked the meal in the clubhouse kitchen. Boy, did it smell good when everyone came in the building! A big thank you to all the club members who donated meat. It was great to see how well our hunters dressed out their animals!
Thanks to all the members for picking up their used shells but please do not put live rounds in the cardboard burning barrel or in the brass bin. When we burn the garbage there has been numerous occasions where Dave has gone running for the hills with bullets going off around him from the fire. Also please put only BRASS in the brass bin no metal casings.
We are looking forward to the longer days of summer and hopefully less rain so come down and visit us to sight in your gun or bow and get ready for another hunting & fishing season.
