Dear Members,

With the OIC passed last Friday, members must be aware that any firearms included in the list are now considered prohibited and MAY NOT be used. That means you cant use them at the range, buy them or sell them. If you take these firearms to the range you risk severe personal liability if caught.

All AR15s and AR10 variants, CZ Evo, Beretta CX4, Swiss Arms, VZ58, all 50cal, M14, Ruger mini14, Robinson XCR, Sig MCX, anything 20mm+. Do not transport these to the range. This includes any law enforcement members using the range outside of official rentals.

Handguns are not affected.

The 20mm+ ban may also affect some shotguns, two lawyer opinions have deemed that this is possible with the current wording of the law.

According to the CSSA, the RCMP have already reclassified a shotgun as prohibited, the Iver Johnson single-shot, fixed choke 12-gauge shotgun with a 2 3/4″ chamber. Read more about it here.

There are two e-petitions currently taking signatures.

E2576: https://petitions.ourcommons.ca/en/Petition/Details?Petition=e-2576

The NFA and CCFR have both announced court challenges to the firearms bans. Please consider joining and donating to these organizations. The Club is looking into its own means of assisting. You can also support a gun friendly political party.

Sincerely,

Rob Engh, President AFGC
