July again has seen us with a consistent 10-15 shooters each week with a good number of new shooters each week. There is a real possibility that the new normal will be to shoot in two lines, so please understand that the evening will extend a bit later when that is the case.
To make the logistics of this easier, we ask that anyone coming to Monday nights with their own rifles set up starting at the left side of the range at Position 1. For those using the club’s equipment, please set up at the right starting at Position 18. I know that we can get a bit crowded however, to get as many folks through each line, please try to fill in to the next available lane as much as possible.
The BCTSA Provincial Championships were held this last weekend (Aug. 1st through 3rd) and while we didn’t have any athletes out this year there is a growing number of regulars at the club who are showing interest in starting a competition path. If this is something you are interested in and you haven’t talked to me about it before, please reach out at 22club@afgc.ca and we can chat!
Reminders:
- The only entrance to Range 1 is around the side across from the archery range. Look for the sign in the parking lot.
- There will be no club running on any holiday Mondays
- We welcome anyone interested in shooting, although we do ask that parents initially provide 1:1 supervision for anyone under 10 years old.
- The mandatory safety briefing starts sharply at 7pm.
- You do not require your PAL, as you can shoot under our supervision, so if you have friends interested in giving it a try, bring them along.
- We provide everything including eye and ear protection for all participants.
- Drop-in fees are $5 for AFGC Members and $10 for non-members.
Looking forward to seeing all of you out Monday nights!
