Year End Feb 2016 2 Year End Feb 2016

It has been an awesome year, with many families bringing out three to four youth to join in our Monday evening shoots. We have been joined by many community youth groups throughout the year, either working towards badges or just part of their program. Our largest attendance was from a local church youth group where we had 51 youth and leaders attending.

It has also been a challenge to keep costs affordable for families who could not otherwise afford to bring their children. We have been fortunate for the support of Italian Sporting Goods and many others for assisting us with supplies at a reasonable cost. By keeping costs affordable, we can introduce many youth and families to a safe and enjoyable sport that they themselves can enjoy, and encourage their future children to participate in.

In the past year, we have identified a real need to accommodate both younger shooters, and those with left-eye dominant, as we have no rifles to support these people. Savage has the .22 Rascal available in both left and right handed versions. This is a lighter gun and an excellent choice for young shooters, especially those we encounter at our Open House. The Mark II GL is also available is a left handed version (the Mark II is our standard target rifle). The club has supplied rifles in the past in support of the .22 club, and this year we have requested club funding so we can accommodate a larger range of participants.

Thanks!
