Local Rivers:
Fraser River: Tidal and Non-tidal – some Sturgeon are being caught but the best angling is for Cut-throat; Butt trout and White fish. Sturgeon – best baits: oolichons; ditch eels; lampreys; roe and of course good old pike minnows! Trout – best baits: single eggs; dew worms; roe and small spoons.
Chilliwack/Vedder: Steelhead and fishermen are throughout the system now. The fish do not have many places to hide so finding them is easier, fish the heavy water in the light of day! When the rain comes more fish will move into the system. Use roe; ghost shrimp; single egg’s; shrimp bags and small spinners and jigs. Quota = 1 fish per day
Chehalis: Very low! Conditions are tough you will have to downsize all baits. Use roe; single egg’s; 8mm beads and tiny spoons and jigs. Scent tip every time! Quota = 1 Steelhead per day
Harrison: best for Cut-throat; Bull trout and White fish. Best baits are single egg’s; worms; minnow patterns and stone flies.
Local lakes:
Local lakes are still producing catches of Rainbow and Cut-throat. Best bait to be successful are roe worms; krill and single eggs.
Interior lakes:
Interior lakes are in full swing and producing well. Best baits are single egg’s; meal worms and small jigs! Be sure to check the ICE carefully !
Have a safe and prosperous outing…….
