IPSC Practices are being well-attended on Sundays. Thank you everyone for your dedication to practicing for the upcoming season. The match organization is moving along smoothly, the stages have been designed and just need to be gone through with a fine tooth comb so we can ensure a smooth build day and match. I [...]
IPSC Practice is starting again on January 12th and we will continue on the indoor range until the end of March. As matches will be starting in April, we will probably have to move back to Thursdays on the outdoor range at that time. I have made the difficult decision to reduce the [...]
The latest round of gun bans from the Liberal Government has been devastating for IPSC. After the handgun ban, we had been focused on growing the PCC (Pistol Calibre Carbine) Division of the sport, but now that has been completely neutered. The only form of carbines left would be using pistol conversion kits. Almost all [...]
It’s official AGFC will be hosting 2 Level II IPSC Handgun Matches this summer on June 28th & 29th. My fingers are crossed that the Clubhouse renovations will be completed by then. IPSC Practice will continue on the indoor range Sunday mornings while the weather is unpredictable and the new landscaping takes root on the [...]
The IPSC Club hosted a 2 day IPSC Mastery Course with Hwansik Kim this past month and 12 shooters attended. The knowledge and expertise that were gained from the course will surely help those shooters improve their skills for the next season. If there is enough interest for another course in the spring, we [...]
The Provincials are over and that tends to mark the end of the shooting season for the year in BC. Congratulations to everyone for doing well. AFGC had a great podium count! A special congratulations to Justin Yan as the most improved shooter for the year with a 32% increase in scores over [...]
We are continuing through our season with matches nearly every weekend, local and around the Province. The IPSC Handgun Nationals in Ontario are coming up in August and we will have some members representing the BC Team. Thursday night practices will continue through the month and I will try to keep coming up with [...]
There were 5 matches during the month of May, including the PCC Nationals in Kamloops. Another 3 of these matches were classified as Level 3, which means more stages over 2 days and winners receive President’s medals from the National IPSC Body. It was great to see so many Abbotsford members wearing their new team [...]
Starting on Thursday May 9th we are starting practice outdoors on Range 4 from 6:30pm - 10:00pm. If anyone would like to show up an hour early to help move equipment over to the Seacan, that would be great! Our new AFGC IPSC Team jerseys have arrived and they look great! I will bring [...]
IPSC Practices are being well attended by members and they seem to be paying off as there were quite a few top placings at the first qualifier of 2024 held in Port Coquitlam. Thank you to all the volunteers who help set up and run matches! We will continue to use the indoor range [...]
Sunday afternoon IPSC practice has been very busy over the last month. I plan to continue with indoor practices until the end of March. If the weather improves enough in April we will move to Range 4 on Thursdays again. Please note there will be no practice on the following dates: Sunday, March 24th [...]
