It has been a very busy month with the hot weather and all of the activities held at the range.
We purchased new hoses and sprinklers so that we could water the grassy area by range 2 due to the tinder dry conditions and members using that area for a smoke area when they are shooting on range 2.
We repaired the eaves trough on the trap house and on the main building.
We have purchased all of the food and necessities for the open house.
We noticed extra water pooling on the cement slab under the modular but could not find the source until we noticed that the kitchen floor was spongy by the sink and we opened up the vapor barrier to have water pour out. We called in Rotor Rooter to find and repair the leak and then talked to Claude and Rod (they were at a course at the range) about the next steps in reporting the flood damage. They suggested we call First on Site Flood Restoration to assess the damage and and begin the cleanup.
The vapor barrier and insulation were removed from the wet areas (about 1/3 of the underside of the trailer) and the skirting of the trailer was opened up to allow the water to dry. We emailed the main executive and asked for help with insurance etc. Cassandra was a great help with connecting us with the proper people in Hub Insurance. Thanks a million Cassandra for your thoughtfulness.
The insurance adjuster and First on Site have examined the damage and are getting a scope of work that the insurance company are going to repair or replace together. They will have this for us by the end of this week. During the insurance investigation, it was discovered that all water piping under the modular is “POLY B” which has a 25 year life span and the trailer is 22 years old. The insurance company has told AFGC that all POLY B piping must be removed in all buildings ASAP or there will be no insurance for water claims in the future.
We have got two quotes for replacing all this piping (which entails removing and replacing insulation and vapor barrier under the modular and removing and replacing wall panels to replace pipe to the two shower heads). One was for $8900 from a plumbing company referred to us by the insurance adjuster and the other was for $2900 which was from a member. The replacement of this piping must be done before the repair to the flood damage will be completed. We will move into our fifth wheel during all of these repairs.
General cleanup of ranges and building.
Prox cards would not open up range 3 doors so we contacted Erling and he discovered that something was wrong with the computer board and he had to order parts to fix it.
Thanks,
Dave & Linda Dunn
