Local Rivers
Vedder/Chilliwack: 4 Salmon/day; 4 hatchery Coho; 4 Chinook; 1 Chum. Still a decent number of fish showing up each tide change. Best baits are jigs swim (twitching) jigs and roe.
Harrison : 4 hatchery Coho, starting to colour up now but still OK! Best baits are jigs and bait – worms, roe, krill, wool and big spoons and spinners are working as well.
Chehalis: 2 hatchery Coho/day; 4 Chinook – 1 over 62cm. Closed to Chum and Sockeye retention – due to over fishing by nets??
Harrison – Stave – Aloette – Nicomen – Fraser: Closed to Chum retention.
Local Lakes
Still producing catches of small Rainbow and Cutthroat Trout. Small spinners and flies, best is single eggs, krill and worms.
Interior Lakes: Low elevation lakes are fishing well. Best baits are leeches, boatman shrimp and blood worms. Switch to bait in lighter conditions. Ice fishing will start typically in mid-December dependent on weather conditions!
Salmon fishing now drawing to a close, next – Steelhead!
Merry Christmas to all and to all tight lines!
