Local Rivers:
Fraser River: the backwaters are giving up great days of angling for big Bull Trout, White fish, Steelhead, Pike Minnow and Sturgeon. This warmer weather we are experiencing is causing fish to be active and best baits are natural baits like dew worms, blood worms, meal worms, roe bags, single eggs and assorted colours of Jensen eggs. Many reports of multiple Sturgeon hookups in a day, use salmon parts, roe bags and pike minnows.
Chilliwack/Vedder: the river is producing great numbers of hatchery Steelhead, largest being 17.5lbs. The following two pictures depict the standings of the Chilliwack Dart and Tackle and Fred Helmer Fishing Derby’s.
Chehalis, Harrison and Alouette: reporting good numbers. Again shrimp pink worms, roe bags and spinglows are the favourites!
Local Lakes:
East and West Harrison still producing Rainbow Trout from shore. Small spinners, deli shrimp, krill and worms are the best.
Interior Lakes:
Merrit/Kamloops averaging 10” of ice and offering great fish numbers, averaging 1-5 lbs along with the odd 10 lb’er! Enjoy and be socially safe!!
