On behalf of all of us at Hunters for BC, we wanted to reach out with our first update on an important program sponsored in part by Abbotsford Fish and Game Club.  We cannot begin to tell you how grateful we are for your support of our small organization!

Mt. Eneas near Peachland, BC is arguably some of the most valuable Mule Deer Winter Range on the westside of Okanagan Lake.  You will have heard a bit about it earlier this year with the presentation to your club by our President and Vice President, Robin & Dave.

We are excited to tell you that your sponsor dollars are allowing us to grow our project with collaboration from local First Nations and the Ministry of Water, Land and Resource Stewardship.  While we are very, very early in project planning, we have received very positive responses to our goal – LET’S GROW MULE DEER!

For now, we wish to present you with a project update from this past year of activities as we monitor the fence line.  We are tracking not only mortalities but urgent fence repairs and are increasing our cameras on wildlife gates in response to what has appeared to be, in this early stage, non-use by Mule Deer.

All of this is contained in our report, and we will touch base again as we build the scope of a more detailed project to encompass this important area.

On behalf of all of us at Hunters for BC, a huge thanks again!
