The PPC sub club held its first of four CPCA nationally registered competitions scheduled for the 2019 shooting year.
The match was attended by 10 competitors and the chief range officer. The weather was clear, cold and windy at the beginning but warming up a little later in the afternoon. The cold and the wind definitely affected the scores, as did the winter lay off from shooting. We are looking forward to warmer weather and higher scores in upcoming matches.
The first Sunday in April will be a regular practice/training match and the first Sunday in May will be the second CPCA nationally registered competition of the year as we gear up for the summer shooting season.
Club members are welcome to come out and observe or compete in our practice/training matches, as well as shooters from other clubs on a drop in basis. For information on participation, equipment and/or ammo requirements please contact me, or the PPC chief range officer/match director, Russell Sorsdahl.
Our CPCA nationally registered matches are open to members from other clubs as well as members of Abby F&G. CPCA rules require that the competitors be current members of CPCA (Canadian Police Combat Association). CPCA memberships can be obtained or renewed at the registration desk on the day of the competition. For copies of CPCA registered match programs for matches held at Abby F&G, please contact Russell Sorsdahl directly at rsorsdahl@shaw.ca or (604) 637-3945.
Good shooting and remember to stay safe on and off the range.
