Local Rivers:
Fraser River: tidal and non-tidal: The snow melt from the north has made the turbidity very high. Tough to hook anything right now but Sturgeon angling has picked up!
Chilliwack/Vedder: is rising quickly, no gravel bars in the lower canal, but fish will hold there and remember the Kelt are aggressive at this time. Use bait – dew worms, krill shrimp egg sacks with a corky in front, cray fishing will get good now – chicken soaked in cod liver oil works well in your trap. Find slow moving 3-4 feet deep areas with structure in it.
Harrison: Cutthroat fishing is now getting really great due to Fry migration. Minnow and Fry imitations are your best bet as well as single eggs.
Local Lakes:
East and West Harrison are not being stocked any more. Elbow; Grace and Wolf are done!
Kawkawa is great right now for Kokanee – troll dog tail flashers accompanied with wedding bands or pink hooches. Angling best at 15-30 feet.
Interior Lakes:
Barnes; Morgan; Six Mile; Stump; Monty and White Lakes are ice free with many of the others lakes coming ice free quickly.
