Local Rivers
Fraser River: – (non-tidal) Closed to Fishing until October 26th (except Sturgeon) – (tidal) Closed to Fishing until October 26th for salmon (except Sturgeon)
Vedder/Chilliwack: is open to Salmon; Trout and Steelhead. 4/Salmon/day; 1 Chum 4 Coho (hatchery) for a daily quota of 4 Salmon Jigs are hot right now! Chum colours are white, purple, blue and red. Coho are hitting red and blue dressed with white or red rubber worms.
Chehalis: Open for Chinook 1/day over 62 cm. 1 Steelhead/day, 2 Chum/day.
Harrison : Open for Steelhead; Chum; Salmon and Trout. Until further notice all Chinook must be released.. 1 Steelhead, 2 Chum – just filling with Coho and Chum now!
Local Lakes
Cultus – Cutthroat and Dolly Varden still making anglers happy! Best baits are bait; small flies and hardware.
Sasquatch Park lakes are still producing large Dolly Varden and Cutthroat. Best baits are single eggs; roe; krill and deli shrimp – also small spinners and flies.
Kawkawa Lake: producing Kokanee up to 40cm, use natural bait!
Interior Lakes
Still very fishable! Be careful as the snow is starting to fly and light freezing is accelerating at the higher elevations. Use shrimp; single eggs; maggots and jigs.
Don’t forget to take a kid fishing this year! Be safe and water wise!
