Attn Members,
Please note there has been an update to the Range Rules in regards to alcohol and drug use for clarification due to the legalization of recreational marijuana.
The Rule currently reads:
Section H, Part 4:
Alcoholic beverages are prohibited on all ranges without prior authorization. Persons whose behavior exhibits the influence of ALCOHOL or DRUGS will not be permitted on any range.
This has been updated to read:
Alcoholic beverages are prohibited on all ranges without prior authorization. All drugs, including marijuana, are prohibited from Club property. Alcohol or drug use before or while shooting is strictly prohibited. Any person suspected of being impaired by alcohol, drugs or medication will not be permitted on any range and will be asked to leave the premises.
Perhaps this should also be a banned for life offence with a no acceptation policy. As we know, using a firearms under any sort of mind altering substance (ie; alcohol/drugs/marijuana) is a criminal offence, this should include a lifetime ban from being an AFGC member period. Anything less does not show the seriousness of the situation. Keep in mind that proving the impairment must be part of the action taken.
As with all of our Range Rules, any member breaking them, or is suspected of impairment while shooting on the range will most definitely be subject to a disciplinary hearing in front of the BOD.
