On behalf of the Board of Directors of Abbotsford Fish and Game Club and our members we are proud to announce that AFGC will be donating to the fight against the Order in Council gun ban by the Trudeau Liberal Government.
Abbotsford Fish and Game Club collectively represents over 2,500 law abiding gun owners who feel this is an unjust and overly punitive ban that completely ignores the government’s own study into the matter of gun violence in Canada.
A total of $15,000 will be split evenly between the three main lobby groups in Canada. The following organizations will receive $5,000 each:
Canadian Coalition for Firearms Rights (CCFR)
National Firearms Association (NFA)
Canadian Shooting Sports Association (CSSA)
AFGC would like to thank these groups and all of the groups working hard to fight against this prejudiced opportunity the Liberal Government has taken against a large group of lawful citizens of Canada.
Unite the gun associations into one and get funding and anti legislation going.
Well done!
Good to hear! Here’s hoping for a positive outcome.
Honestly if there was some merger in between these 3 groups, (I know the NFA has been quite combative against other groups for no apparent reason) we could really pull together a bunch of separate support bases into a single group of people, more financial backing, more resources and man power to coordinate our voices and do work on behalf of gun owners. It’s about time we have one single strong gun advocacy organization. The US is bigger so it’s main 3 are kind of the NRA, GOA, and USCCA. I’d like it to all be under one big roof, one big family. It’d make us a more formidable apponent.
They won’t unite because people will be out of jobs.
Uhm. Not to be the party pooper… bit I’m surprised that they have given money to anyone OTHER than the CCFR? Not sure why they wouldn’t have done their homework and realized that the ONLY group doing ANYTHING for the firearm community… is in fact… the Canadian Coalotion for Firearm Rights. That full 15k… would have done a lot more than the 10 k that they are literally are giving away. Not to be a party pooper, but you don’t see any of the other firearm activist groups in this country filing a lawsuit to defend our rights do you? That other 10k will just go puff… into the wind. Would have been a lot smarter to have the ccfr get the full 15, as I say, they’re the only ones really sticking their nose to the grindstone for our rights. Everyone else is just a little bit of warm air, and as the previous gentleman said… Combative against the other firearmr rights group.
Surprised that a group giving away that kind of money, that they wouldn’t have done a little research on the current political firearm rights climate… and WHO is really doing WHAT…????
All Things Considered though… That was an extremely generous gesture of them. I didn’t mean to take away from the generosity. That’s a fantastic gift. And I commend them for their effort.
When it comes to supporting Firearm Lobby groups, it is just as controversial as the gun debate itself. giving each group the same amount, shows the club’s support for the fight for our right, but doesn’t drag the club into the drama between the three different group by favours for one side or the other.
I fully support this. I made personal donations to my preferred groups as well and wrote my MP and various Liberal ministers and the PMO.
I think it was a good idea to support these groups in a concrete way. I have mentioned in the past and still feel that we should consider severing ties with any federal law enforcement agencies. Let them build their own facilities to train on.
Regarding severing ties with law enforcement agencies, I agree that would “feel good”, but right now we need to increase our allies, not decrease them. Law enforcement in particular are the professionals that we need to chime in on this issue. We need more articles like this:

Speaking the truth of the gun ban means a great deal more coming from law enforcement than firearms advocates. We need to do everything we can to increase the number of people asking for a reasonable approach to violence, instead of leveraging the issues for votes.
If I read this right… is my 12guage semi automatic shotgun banned ….. it’s my duck and grouse gun WTF !!!
