LOCAL RIVERS AND LAKES
Fraser River: – (non-tidal) Sturgeon fishing is fair because conditions are: very high water levels combined with murky conditions; best to use oolichons, lampreys, chum roe, salmon strips, pike minnows and worms.
Vedder/Chilliwack: is closed to angling above the crossing; but it is open to fly fishing only below the crossing – May 1-31st. River opens totally July 1st.
Chehalis: Opens June 1st for Chinook and summer run Steelhead.
Harrison: This spring produced an extremely large salmon fry emergence, resulting in great Cutthroat and Bull trout fishing! Use minnow imitations, minnow fly patterns, small crocodiles and hildebrandt spoons.
Cultus Lake: doing well with Cutthroat and Bull trout.
Harrison: unbelievable Cuthroat fishing right now! Also Whitefish, use lures; flies and real baits!
