ATS April 2016

April’s IDF Tavor courses were well attended, with a lot of positive feedback expressed, both on course content, as well as the facility. The instruction on the current IDF “Big Army Way” of training provided a completely different perspective, from the usual “Gunfighter” style typically taught on North American carbine courses. I also sweat about [...]

ATS Update for March / April Tavor Course Update

The 2nd CQB shoot of the year was well attended, with 36 shooters out. Fortunately, the weather cooperated- a perfect day for shooting; to bad my score didn’t reflect the excellent conditions. Tavor Course Update ATS will be hosting 2 Tavor courses this month, in lieu of the regular ATS day; 22-24 April, indoor and Range 2, and [...]

ATS Year End Report

2015 was a busy year, for the ATS group. Numbers were a consistent 8-12 shooters per practice, with the new and repaired steel target arrays allowing a lot more trigger time on the platforms. The steel is also far more forgiving in the inclement weather, ‘cause “if it ain’t rainin’, it ain’t trainin’…” The ATS [...]

ATS Sub Club Report February 2016

Sunday 24 Jan saw 6 shooters out, with a full steel array for drills. Feedback was very positive, though the drills run need some tweaking, to allow for the decrease in time wasted taping targets! The first CQB shoot of the year, with a new course of fire, was a resounding success. 40 shooters out, [...]

ATS Sub Club Report November 2015

4 shooters out on the 25th- most regulars were committed to the Thompson Mountain Tac Rifle Night Shoot, that went off well, to all accounts. Lower numbers allowed for some good movement drills, and higher round count. A reminder for the wrap up CQB shoot, this Saturday; will be a great prize table, for those consistently [...]
