Local Rivers

1) Fraser: both tidal and non-tidal portions, have been spotty due to high and muddy water conditions. If you persevere and angle with patience and use bright baits you will be rewarded: Chinook are almost done but there are still plenty of darker fish. Big Coho showing up – roe and jigs are the best, tip your jigs with a prawn tail! Myself and Ken Shagren (Dave’s Sporting Goods, Lyndon Washington) hooked 78 Chum between us on October 28th using blue and purple 1/4oz jigs broke off just as many. Great day on the river, to join up with us call me!

Needless to say the Sturgeon angling is HOT! Use your Chum parts – roe; hearts; belly will work for you.

No need for patience here, hook ups are quick and plentiful.

2) Vedder/Chilliwack: reports of big Coho showing up in dredged holes of Yarrow. Twitching or bottom bouncing swing jigs is the most productive method, though traditional float and roe always work. Chinook are getting dirty now – but still smokeable!

3) Harrison: My favourite! Is once again out-standing if you can handle the crowd! Jigs and spoons working the best. All day action rain or shine, still no Chinook retention.

4) Chehalis: as usual the water is up and for those who like to walk you will get all species in no time as the water shed is teaming! Use wool, roe and spinner spoons and of course pink jigs tipped with shrimp.

Lakes

Interior Lakes: still producing but cooler weather brings lethargic fish! Slow is the key, use leaches; dragonfly nymphs; damsel and caddis.

Local Lakes: slow now but will get hotter when the smolts and fry emerge.
