AFGC is looking to replace the worn out benches on the ranges with new ones and we’re looking for your opinion. Please note the finished benches may be modified to best suit the club needs.

Bench style #2 fits every body type and there is less chance of knocking stuff off the table.
Came here to say this. There are…. many body types that attend the range and the benches will need to work with all of them.
There are also some that wear duty gear that are somewhat obtrusive in the front. The T type benches better allow for access in these situations.
I prefer the U shaped over the T shaped
I like and prefer Bench 1 much better sitting and layout gives options for both left or right hand operations. Bench 2 limits this. i mean second style does have option for two seats but reality is how many time in such close proximity do you want someone seating. you shell discharge would hit the person sitting next to you. Bench 1 is perfect lay out you stuff around you with very ergonomical use of space
The T style bench is still only designed for one person to shoot at a time. You sit on the left for right handed shooters, or on the right for left handed shooters. Not both at the same time….
Bench type #2 is a better universal design that will easily accommodate all body sizes/shapes.
Not a fan of the U style.
When two shooters (Right/Left Hand) are shooting from the same bench, in addition to moving the rifle from side to side the stool must allso be moved, when shooting from the T-style bench. So for this reason I perfer the U-style bench.
