Notice of Special General Meeting, September 27th, 2018 at 7:30 PM
In accordance of our constitution and bylaws, any items not presented and approved at the last AGM, requires that a General Special Meeting be called to seek approval of the membership.
The AFGC Board of Directors would like to call a Special Meeting to review a proposal regarding purchase of a new property for expansion of range facilities under AFGC management. This new range property would be able to accommodate two rifle ranges (200m and 600m) and up to 16 smaller ranges (50-60m).
Once proposal is reviewed we will be voting on proceeding with next steps which include business plan, offer/negotiation and due diligence period prior to finalizing sale. This process is expected to take 6-8 months.
Thanks, AFGC Board of Directors
Unfortunately I will be out of town on business on this date and I will not be able to attend.
I will be away too.
600M range potential? I will be there and can miss my TNF.for one week.
What use will a 600m range be once Trudeau takes our guns?
How much will our fees go up due to this? That’s the real question. Although I laughed at Clays comment. Expansion is good as long as the support is there for the long term.
I will be away on vacation on that date unfortunately.
I had to read this a couple times to make sure I read it correctly. This would give us an amazing facility and we would have no problems expanding membership to support this. We could also rent out the extra ranges without impacting members as much as we do now. We could also host a large number of shooting events and competitions.
I support the concept of long range shooting. I would personally be there at least monthly at a long distant range if were close to Abbotsford. Like the field of dreams……build it they will come. We need to support recreational shooting and encourage youth to take up long range competitive shooting. If people are worried about Trudeau taking our guns we need to vote him out and vote out the local political people that support gun confiscation of legally owned firearms. Get those people out of power.
This is great. I hope it happens.
We will be on holidays and will not be able to attend.
However, a couple of questions:
1. Will the purchase of this property increase the overall membership fees and if so, what would be the estimated cost increase?
2. If there is to be an membership fee increase would it affect all members of the AFGC or only those that would utilize this facility?
Thanks!
The 600meter range would be awesome, you have my vote!
I may be a bit late but I will head out there after my course I am taking a Govornment Commercial Vehicle Inspectors course which gets out at 18:30 on Annicis Island I hope it will be okay but just want to make sure before I make the trek all of the way out there
How can we proxy vote? I am going to be away.
200 & 600m will be great..hope to happens next year..and I will support that…
I will be out of town on business but I fully support this initiative. I am hoping there is a method to place a vote in favour even though I will be away.
I will not be able to make it. If its close to abbotsford I vote yes. Can we vote online?
I will not be able to make this meeting. Sounds like a great idea!
awesome! this is exactly what many of us are searching for ,and are driving for 4 or 5 hours ,to find this type of distance ,to shoot. a yes vote here, with full cooperation to what is needed .
You had me at “600m”
In all seriousness, growth will bring new challenges and we need to do this smartly
Overall this is great news, and I think would help grow our sport! Is there any additional information (new location or expansion?) and perhaps do a proxy vote
I support the acquisition of new long range rifle shooting property.
Good idea, where is the property in question? Still close to Chilliwack or moved towards Mission?
Also do you need a specific quorum of the membership to attend, in order for this proposal to proceed? If so please send separate email informing members of this need to show up
Hi all ! I’ll be attending kind Regards
I support the new application off shooting range 200. 600
200m and 600m ranges would be amazing. Interested in knowing what the costs would be, both one-time and for membership fees.
600 Meters, yes please!
This is great news for people like me who have been on the membership wait list for ages. I support keeping club numbers low in order to maintain the integrity of the club, but this is a very populated region and we need more shooting facilities, so hopefully this opens up an opportunity for some of us to join, (hopefully at the rates currently offered, the membership will increase as much as you need it to to fund expansion!)
What was the outcome of the meeting? I was not able to attend. Thank you
