Hello Team, fellow members, Open House Range Officers, Volunteers and any other VIPs I may have missed, real or imagined.
Many of you have send me an e-mail wanting to volunteer, and many of you received an answer and some did not because they got lost. The last few days I have attempted to send you all an email, but my computer would not co-operate and send these out to you. But it is of the utmost importance that I contact you or you contact me. Our club needs your help, and it needs it now. That is why I am sending this message to you via our weekly newsletter.
So here is what we are going to do to get you all aboard and make this the best Open House ever.
I am calling for a Final Planning Meeting for Saturday 16 July, 2016 at 10:00 hrs. (We should be finished by 12:30 hrs.). I tried to call the meeting prior to our Combined Membership and Board Meeting on Thursday evening but there is already another meeting called. So Saturday it is. We have no choice. The purpose is to finalize the plan for the Open House taking place on Saturday, July 23. As I am presently unable to e-mail you all I am hoping that those members that have indicated to help, and any others that want to, having read this, come out this Saturday and help us planning to make the Open Day successful one week later, the 23 of July. There is much to do, besides manning the ranges, such as parking control, setting up, crowd control at the various ranges, etc. Some of these jobs have not been assigned, so I hope you will come to this meeting having read this newsletter.
The purpose of the meeting is to assign more volunteers, hopefully, from the club members that show up. I would ask all of you, including all Club Directors and Sub-Club heads, to canvass their members for volunteers. I had 52 souls at the last Work Bee, surely we could find at least 10 additional members to come and help out. IMPORTANT please ask them to come to the July 16 meeting at 10:00 hrs., we will find a suitable task for them. All members that volunteer for the Open House Event, which, by the way, will count as Work Bee Volunteer hrs., and they will be eligible to win one of the two free memberships, that will be drawn and awarded at our next AGM, as thanks for coming out and help. ?In addition, when the Open House has ended, around 16:30 hrs., we will celebrate with a Pig BBQ, set up on the Archery Range, for all volunteers that helped out at the Open House. You are invited, and yes, that includes your significant others, such as spouses, and their kids (I do not think it will be good for babies and toddlers as we had not planned for a Baby Sitting Service. I asked Mark our VP and Acting President but he declined (lucky for the babies, he would probably fall asleep on the job, just kidding)!
