AFGC is actively looking for a new Treasurer to join the Board for 2023. Our current Treasurer is unfortunately unable to continue with the position after more than 10 years due to other commitments.

The duties of the Treasurer are as follows:

The Treasurer shall receive all monies due to the Society, record and deposit them in a recognized Canadian financial institution as may from time to time be designated by the Board of Directors, and shall hold the same IN TRUST for the Society. The Treasurer shall keep a detailed account of all receipts and expenditures, and shall provide copies of the same to the Secretary for inclusion in the minutes. The Treasurer shall from time to time make such reports as may be required by the Board of Directors, and shall produce a statement of accounts and the balance on hand of the Society at each meeting of the Society.

In order to qualify for this position AFGC bylaws state that all Directors must be a member in good standing for at least the last five (5) consecutive years. Current Board of Directors are exempt from the 5 year requirement. All nominations require a seconder and the nominee must be present at the meeting or have provided written acceptance of their nomination to the nomination committee or Board of Directors prior to the meeting.

If you are interested, please contact Rob at president@afgc.ca to let him know. There will be an election held at the upcoming AGM this year for all suitable candidates.
