LOCAL RIVERS
Fraser: non-tidal: large numbers of cutthroat trout, white fish and Dolly Varden have shown up! Look for back water and creek mouths. Best baits are worms, krill, single eggs and roe sacks or may fly patterns, muddles and minnow immitations are working as well.
Chilliwack/Vedder: still producing well! Some fish in the 20lb range have been killed. Fishing below the crossing has been slow due to the seals hanging around Yarrow. Good numbers of fish being hooked at Thurston Camp runs, limit hole has been spotty; the whole system is large and stained. Now you can fish with bigger baits, roe sacks, krill sacks, single egg clusters and coloradoes seem to be preferred. Fly fishermen are doing quite well with kelt.
Harrison & Chehalis: full of chum fry making the cutthroat fishing quite good now. Some Steelhead still being taken on the Chehalis. Bait is Best! But for you purists minnow imitations and may flies as well as muddlers.
Local Lakes: Kawkawa is now ice free and the boat launch is now open. Large numbers of Kokanee, Curtis and a few Rainbow have been reported. Use deli shrimp, krill, earthworms and single eggs. For the Fly guys Chrionomids and may fly patterns.
Interior Lakes: Ice getting thin now, be cautious! Use krill, meal worms, grubs and earthworm!
