The 2019 Open House was another success!!!! We had just over 300 guests come through the gates and enjoy all of what Abbotsford Fish and Game has to offer and to see the passion for these sports our members have. We had many families and even a Bachelorette Party visit and try out all that was offered.

I would like to thank the amazing volunteers who as usual stepped it up to make sure that everything ran safe, smoothly and that everyone had fun; without each and every one of you this event would not have been a success. You each played a special role in creating an atmosphere that was welcoming. You all are fantastic and made it a pleasure to put this together. I hope that you all had as much fun as I did and that you were proud of what we accomplished.

Special thanks go out to Constable Mike Christensen of the Abbotsford Police who spent the day showing us the support from the men & women who serve and protect our beautiful city. Thank you to Trevor Dick, owner of Phoenix Truck and Crane, who donated water for our volunteers. Also thank you to HMK for bringing out their catering cart to supply both the volunteers and our guests with an amazing lunch. All deserve a standing ovation for their support of AFGC.

Now onto my honourable mentions… to my kitchen crew, Corrie, Christina, Michele & Darcy for helping me put together food for the volunteer dinner. Mark for cooking yet another great pig and Ken for helping Mark carve it, Steve for the deep fried turkey and Dan and Audrey for getting everything set up for dinner and clean up after. Geoff, who helped me with so many things on the PR side, my amazing husband Chris, for keeping me calm and in check throughout the whole process. John & Anthony for your security support and Cort for first aid support and of course without question my RO’s who kept the ranges safe and running smoth.. Without you all I would not have had a backbone for this operation.

Thank you again one and all for donating you time and making this year’s event a success. GREAT JOB!!!!
