We have seen an incredibly active year and have made some serious progress with several project with the help of some very dedicated members – hopefully the 2014 / 2015 year will continue to be as productive in helping us to continue to improve out facility even more.

AGM

First of all a reminder to all members that our AGM is fast approaching – this is the first Thursday of March (March 6th) and this year will be held in Range 1 (indoor range) in anticipation of the expected turnout. This is your chance to have a say in who will be running the club for the 2014 / 2015 membership year. Remember it is “your club” so if you want to take an active role in the club this is your chance. For those of you who are wondering – yes I will be running again for President of the club and want to thank those who have already offered your support.

I have received some interest in the Vice President position but we are still looking for people interested in taking on the duties of Treasurer and Secretary. We are also looking to put together a “PR Team” this year as we are planning to take a much more active role in PR and in more community events this year. These jobs as any on the executive do require a substantial time commitment to the club as well as attendance to two meetings a month. We will also have some director’s positions as well.

Range Rentals

There have been a couple of questions about range 4 availability and some confusion as to rental of range 4. WE DO NOT RENT RANGE 4. The only time Range 4 is not available to members is if the entire facility has been closed for special events.

Game Dinner

Our annual Game dinner is fast approaching as well – it will be held Feb 8th. We are still looking for game meat donations just in case you were successful in harvesting game this year and have some you would like to donate.

Tickets are available now, contact Brent for ticket purchases at 604-798-0611.

Fishing

One thing this club is seriously lacking is participation in the fishing side of things. Lorne has been doing this on his own for some time now and we would really like to see more people step up to help with this side of the club.

People interested in assisting should come to a meeting and lets get this side of the club moving a bit, maybe the odd fishing derby or something similar. Time to get some more fresh blood involved.

Membership

There are several people inquiring about a membership wait list – we will advise on the website as well as on Facebook when we are starting a wait list. Current members will have a 30 day grace period to renew their memberships after which they will loose their position and be put on the wait list. Invoices for renewals will be sent out automatically and the hope is that most people will take advantage of the online payment system to help speed the process.

We will also be issuing all members with new ID cards this year which will be equipped with RFID chips as we are moving forward with an electronically controlled access system to all ranges.

Thanks,
Ray Boulton
