Our Monthly match for July 2nd was cancelled and the range was released for use by the general membership as half of our regular shooters travelled to Dryden Ontario to compete in the Canadian National PPC Championships held on the July 1st long weekend.

The Abbotsford competitors represented the club very well coming home with 24 medal standings, 12 Gold, 6 Silver and 6 Bronze.

Over the past couple of years the Abbotsford PPC Club have been supporting members of the Kelowna and District Fish and Game Club to establish a PPC  PPC sub club by providing instructor training courses, guidance in obtaining membership in the Canadian Police Combat Association (CPCA) and holding CPCA approved competitions at a club level.  The Kelowna PPC club will be holding their first CPCA competition that is open to non-Kelowna club members which some Abbotsford shooters attending to support the Kelowna Club.

Our monthly first Sunday PPC matches will resume on August 6th on range 3, with first Sunday matches taking place September, October, November and finishing up with our annual Christmas Turkey fun shoot the first Sunday of December. Abbotsford members and non-members are welcome to participate.

Some of our members will also be travelling to Europe in August to compete in the World Championships, representing not only Abbotsford, but the whole of Canada, with other competitors from all across Canada.  We are hoping that our Canadian Two Person teams can successfully defend their gold and silver medals in the revolver and semi-auto 1500 open matches.

Our PPC shooters who planned on attending the Washington State and NW Regional PPC matches in Hanford last week were not able to attend as Ottawa failed to approve our applications in time for firearm import permits on return to Canada.

Our shooters are also preparing to participate in the Vancouver Island Championships to be held in Victoria over the October Thanksgiving weekend.

Remember to stay safe and health on and off the range.

Russell Sorsdahl, PPC Director
