Thursday night trap practice came to an end on September 19. Our monthly trap shoots will continue through the winter on the third Sunday of each month at 10am.

September brought about our final Trophy Shoots. The 200-bird trophy, which is comprised of the best score shot each Sunday over 8 months came down to the final round and was decided by 1 bird with Bob Rigby shooting a round of 23 and Daryl Jantzen shooting a 22. The Lamson Individual Handicap Trophy was shot from the 20-yard line by all shooters and was won by Bob Rigby in a shoot off with Rod May. Bob hit 23 of 25 birds. The Earl Sherman 24-yard Handicap Trophy was won by Rod May, this event is shot from the 24-yard line. Rod hit 39 of 50 targets.

The Interclub shoot was hosted September 8 at Agassiz. The weather was great with Sun and Cloud and around 22 C. Everyone enjoyed the extra challenge of Agassiz’s wobble trap. For anyone unfamiliar with Wobble trap. It is the same side to side motion along with an up and down motion. Some targets seem to go straight up and others hover just above the ground.
Abbotsford’s Team had a team total of 92 comprised of the following shooters:

The event was won by Mission District Rod and Gun Club with a team score of 106. Brian Fooks from Ridgedale Rod and Gun Club won the High Gun, hitting 24 of 25 targets.
