Tis almost that time of the year, for whatever celebration you celebrate, so pick one, and Happy whatever!

Our expansion on Range 2 has been taking far too long, but we are getting there. Target stands are now installed at the 100yd and 100m lines. Most shooting bays have a stand at each distance, with two target holders per stand, but a few spots only have one distance due to the mountain and it’s contours. So no more dragging target stands out there, just take your backer out and place it at either of the two distances, knowing that the closest one is actually 100yds and the furthest is 100m, and I mean exactly that distance too. Eventually we’ll get numbers on the stands so you’ll know what bay works for which stand.

Next up will be the lights, we are just waiting on the final specs to be approved on them and then they will be installed. Once that is done Range 2 will be lit until 10pm like the other ranges.

The shooting shed extension will have to wait awhile due to the unexpected increase in costs to build, our current budget doesn’t quite cover it, and we have to wait until the AGM to approve an increase in that, we decided to go ahead with the stands and lights though, as we felt those were the most important items to deal with.

There will be a combined meeting on January 14th, General and Exec, if you have any questions, concerns or things you think we need to know about, please email them to me so I can put them on the agenda and they can be discussed at the meetings. president@afgc.ca.
