The Abbotsford Fish and Game Club offers indoor shooting opportunities for both juniors and adults, using club furnished 22-cal. rifles. Emphasis is on gun safety and marksmanship in a program geared toward people of all ages. We have many family groups participating. You may also bring your own .22-cal rifle, and subject to inspection, may shoot it. Both Members and non-Members are welcome.

The fee is $5 for Members and $10 for non-Members per evening. This fee covers supplies such as ammunition and targets. Guns, and safety accessories are provided by the Club. A Range Safety Officer (RSO) is present during each session, offering supervision and instruction, as needed.

The .22-cal. rifle program is held every Monday evening in the indoor range. The program is year around, with no events on holiday Mondays, or over during the Christmas season (December 22 to January 2). Starting time is 7:00pm and we finish up around 8:30 PM.

Shooters are encouraged to record their scores every week which count towards badges for increasing levels of achievement.

If you are uncomfortable using a firearm or have never shot a rifle before and would like some instruction on safety and handling of firearms then this may be a good place to start.

22 Rifle Sub Club Report Open House 2016

We had an awesome time with the shooters at the open house. Started with 4 positions, then had to go to 5 positions. By ammo count, we had about 280+ shooters, varying in age from around 6 to over 60. I would like to thank our volunteers: Dave, Tim, J-P, Pieter, Curt and those that [...]

22 Rifle Sub Club Report July 2016

We still are looking for more assistance with the .22 Rifle Club. Pieter’s work situation has changed significantly and he will now be travelling and visiting more, with less assistance at AFGC . We took some time to sight in the two new club 10/22 rifles. They now shoot about 3/8 inch groups. Awesome! Attendance [...]

22 Rifle Sub Club Report for March 2016

A great big thanks to Dave and Linda Dunn. Linda washed all of our shooting matts (they were beyond filthy) and Dave made some more prone wood supports. Also, a big thanks to Peter who ran things when I was off sick. We have purchased some Savage Rascal Target Rifles in left hand. These are [...]

.22 Rifle Sub Club Year End Report

It has been an awesome year, with many families bringing out three to four youth to join in our Monday evening shoots. We have been joined by many community youth groups throughout the year, either working towards badges or just part of their program. Our largest attendance was from a local church youth group where [...]

22 Sub Club Report February 2016

We have a preliminary budget approval for purchases of additional 22 left handed rifles that can be used by the 22 Club. However, after contacting many suppliers and doing research in depth, YUCK! Talking with Peter at Rusty Woods in Mission, if we re-sight a rifle that is not made to accept peep sights, it [...]

22 Sub Club Report January 2016

The .22 Club would like to request budgetary funding for the purchase of four .22 caliber left landed target rifles for next year. These would be used by both right and left handed shooters, who have a dominant left eye. It appears from internet searches that we will have to buy the rifles, then have [...]
